What happens when I request quotes? You'll answer a few questions in Insurance Panda's free quote tool, which shows options from insurers that serve your area. What's available depends on your state, vehicle and driving profile, and you may be contacted about quotes. You don't have to buy anything.

Are the quotes I see final? No. A quote is based on the information you provide. The insurer sets your final price after reviewing details such as your driving record, claims history and vehicle, and in states that allow it, a credit-based insurance score.

Will getting quotes hurt my credit score?RateFrog doesn't check your credit. When an insurer checks your credit for a quote, it's generally treated as a soft inquiry, which doesn't affect your credit score. Some states limit or ban the use of credit information in pricing car insurance.

Can I buy a policy through RateFrog? No. You buy a policy directly from an insurance company or a licensed agent. RateFrog doesn't sell insurance, collect payments or handle claims.

How often should I compare car insurance quotes? Many drivers compare quotes a few weeks before their policy renews and again after a big change, such as moving, buying a car, getting married or adding a teen driver. Insurers weigh these changes differently, so the company that was cheapest last year may not be now.

Is my personal information safe? You can read RateFrog without giving us any personal information. If you request quotes, you'll enter your details in Insurance Panda's quote tool, and its privacy policy explains how that information is used and shared. Our privacy policy covers this website.
