How We Research
We check facts against primary sources wherever we can, including insurers’ own coverage and policy pages, state insurance departments, state laws and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. Our guides link to those sources so you can check them yourself, and we point out when an answer depends on your policy or your state.

RateFrog is free to use, and we never charge you a fee. We may earn money when you request quotes through links on our site. The quote tool we link to belongs to Insurance Panda, which shares an owner with RateFrog. RateFrog is not an insurance company and doesn’t sell insurance.
